The main part of the 2004 summer was filled with smoke from the many forest fires that burned in Alaska and the Yukon Territory of Canada. At one point there was over 100 active forest fires in Alaska alone that burned over 5.6 million acres (equal to about 12,684 square miles or the size of Maryland and Delaware combined). One of the days up at school I took a picture of the Sun through the smoke with no filters on the camera.
