Ben Andrews, another volcanology graduate student (now a Ph.D. student at the University of Texas, ran the volcanology talk at one point while we demonstrated an explosive volcanic eruption with our compressed air volcano. Ben's talk provided a cool explosion simulated by pouring liquid nitrogen into soapy hot water. The experiment produces many bubbles that get frozen from the liquid nitrogen.
