In February 2003, we went to see the end of the 2003 Yukon Quest on the Chena River in downtown Fairbanks. This race was almost canceled because of the little amount of snow and not as cold of temperatures. The race alternates starts each year from Whitehorse, Yukon Territory, Canada and Fairbanks, Alaska. The 2004 race will begin in Fairbanks. The only problem with waiting for the mushers to come in was we didn't know when they would arrive, so after waiting a couple of hours for them we had to leave because both of us had very frozen feet from standing on the river.
