During the rest of this day we checked out the eruptive deposits that were blown down wind of the eruption. We also checked out the source vent of the eruption and investigated what happened to a couple of rafted sections that are now in the area of the lava lake. We also stopped by the Hawaiian Volcano Observatory that sits on the outer rim of Kilauea's caldera.
