We managed to arrive into Dutch Harbor in the mid afternoon, but the connecting flight that we were going to take to Nikolski went with only our baggage because of the weight limit. By the time the flight had returned to take us, the weather at Nikolski was getting bad, so we had to stay in Dutch Harbor for the night. (August 1, 2003) We woke this day to find out we had to wait around the airport till the weather got better in Nikolski. We did have some time to check out the area near the airport, but not much else. We also saw some of the remnants of the defensive bunkers from World War II that still claim some of the hills in the area. It turned out that we had to spend another night in Dutch Harbor since the weather never cleared up that day.
