I was doing this field work with three other people: Jonathan Dehn (my advisor), Richard Moore of the USGS, and Mike Brown (a graduate student at Kansas State University). I got into Anchorage and soon met up with Mike. Jon and Rich went down to Dutch Harbor, Alaska the previous day. Mike and I soon found out that we had to wait 5 more hours before our flight to Dutch Harbor left. Once we got the chance to leave we flew past several Alaskan volcanoes. The first volcano we flew past was Mt. St. Augustine.
