We had heard that in a normal year about 300 or so people climb to the summit of Villarrica. During this conference, since there were so many volcano nuts in town, this 300 climbers was probably reached in just a couple day period. This photo shows around 100 zig-zagging climbers going to the summit while we enjoy the view from the lodge.
