The second stop of the day was at one of the several pyroclastic deposits located around the volcano where pyroclastic flows and ash fallout units produce several layers. Some cool erosion takes place in the units to where the softer units cut into harder welded units. UAF graduate student, Celso Reyes, is in the photo for scale.
