A very honored place to see in the National Cemetery is noted in Shaara's book. Where this 24 pound Dahlgren boat howitzer points out toward the Tennessee River to the east, there are these six graves. All six of these men where color bearers of the 16th Wisconsin Regiment. All of them died carrying their flag into battle, and only their flag - no rifle!
