California State Route 190 eventually turns southeast, and this brought us to our destination of Furnace Creek within Death Valley National Park around 5:15 PM (PDT). At around 190 feet below sea level the temperature was about 82 F when we arrived. From the Furnace Creek Ranch the low western sun shed some awesome light on the lower hills of the Amargosa Range to the east. All the RV's were from some bicycling race that was heading through the region.
