We eventually connected up with California State Route 190 east. At a point along the initial portion of this road we were able to see the Panamint Valley and Panamint Range (in the distance), roughly, from the Argus Range. At some points along the upper elevations (~5,000 feet) of this leg, the temperatures got down to about 59 F.
