I had taken a job in St. Louis, Missouri, so on October 21, 2005, Kate and I were all packed up and ready to drive south. We had planned to make the trip a very scenic one, choosing to stop at many National Parks along the way to see more of the country. Since we did most of the midwest and northwest on the way from Pittsburgh to Fairbanks, we decided to see the southwest United States on this trip. We had about 4-5 weeks before our household goods were due to reach St. Louis, so what better thing to do with that time than sightsee. We left Fairbanks at about 12:15 PM (ADT). The temperature had been a chilly 21 F, and snow had recently fallen in the area a few days earlier. As we drove south on the Richardson Highway, Kate snapped a few photos to show everyone the snowfall.
