sig072 The next day after Innsbruck, Austria, I took the tour from the hotel to Neuschwanstein Castle southwest of Garmisch. This was one of the best places I have ever been to. As we headed up the road toward Neuschwanstein Castle, we passed by Hohenschwangau Castle (seen in this photo). Hohenschwangau Castle is where King Maximilian II, the father of King Ludwig II, lived. sig072

sig080 The week in Germany was awesome, and one I will never forget. On the way out of town headed back to Italy, I saw this mural. It is the story of Hansel and Gretel. sig080
sig081 Back in Sicily, I met up with friends on a day we had a party to say bye to one of my closest friends. We were at the home of one of our forecasters. They had a great view of Mount Etna, which at the time was still in eruption since 1991. The eruption was getting more intense as it started to send a lava flow heading toward a town nearby. sig081
sig082 A few weeks later, several of us went to a training meeting on Naval Station Rota, Spain. On one of the days, we had some time to head up to Sevilla, Spain to see the World Expo. This is taken as we are heading into the facility for the World Expo. sig082
